The Europe Missionaries Gathering was held on March 27 at Tenrikyo Europe Centre, located in a Paris suburb, drawing 32 from five countries: the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. The gathering came at a time when the Oyasama 120th Anniversary Path Leaders Rallies--intended for all church head ministers and their spouses as well as mission station heads--were being conducted at various locations. The missionaries who assembled for the event pledged to redouble their efforts to carry out their pre-anniversary activities leading up to the 120th Anniversary, scheduled for 2006. The gathering started by having all participants perform the seated service together. Then, following Europe Centre Head Noriaki Nagao's opening address, Mrs. Mariko Matsuo, the wife of Kako Grand Church's head minister, delivered a lecture, in which she shared her insights into the teaching of causality as well as her own experiences in salvation work. She concluded by saying: "This path in which we have faith is filled with delight, and I feel truly grateful for it. During the wonderful current season, let all of us be high-spirited and make great strides toward world salvation, placing our complete trust in the everliving Oyasama." Her lecture prompted many questions about doctrinal aspects and effective ways of sprinkling the fragrance of the teachings. Later, Kyokushi London Mission Station Head Nobuyuki Takeuchi and Galicia Mission Station Head Maria del Carmen Alen presented speeches, sharing the activities they were undertaking in order to prepare for the 120th Anniversary and stressing the importance of concerted and proactive efforts to spread the teachings. This was followed by group discussions, in which the participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the pre-anniversary activities. |
