During their recent missionary tour--which took them to Congo Brazzaville Church--the Shinbashira and his wife also visited Tenrikyo Europe Centre in Antony, France, and Tenrikyo UK Centre in London. The Shinbashira and Mrs. Nakayama arrived in Paris on September 5 and went to the Europe Centre in the city's suburbs. On the 6th they attended a reception with 64 Yoboku and followers. Then, on the 7th they toured the Japanese language classes and gallery exhibitions at the Tenri France-Japan Cultural Association. On the 8th the couple then left for the Republic of the Congo, where they attended the 40th anniversary service of Congo Brazzaville Church on the 9th and the church's monthly service on the 10th. Then, on the 11th, they toured the "Congo Brazzaville Ikoi-no-Ie Medical Clinic" and presented donations of medical supplies. They later paid a courtesy call to the prime minister. The Shinbashira and Mrs. Nakayama flew to London via Paris on the 12th and visited the UK Centre, which had held its relocation service and ceremony in June of this year. They attended the UK Centre's evening service and a reception on the 13th. The couple ended their 10-day trip upon returning to Jiba on the 15th. |
