The Amulet

The Amulet is granted to those who have returned to Jiba and applied for it through a written request. For this reason, it is also referred to as the Proof Amulet, proving that its bearer has returned to Jiba. It is a small piece of red cloth that was part of the clothing worn by the everliving Oyasama.

If we wear it at all times, we can be protected with a great misfortune being turned into a small misfortune and a small misfortune turned into no misfortune at all. This is not to say that merely wearing the Amulet will ensure that we are protected at all times. To receive the protection that is intended, we must settle Oyasama's teachings in our mind and implement them in our daily lives. That is, we must protect our mind from deviating from the truth of the teachings if we wish to have God protect our body. Thus we are taught, "To protect the mind is to protect the body."

The Amulet is bestowed on the applicant in person. If the applicant is under the age of fifteen, however, a parent or someone who can act in place of the parents must accompany the child. Either of the parents can receive the Amulet for the child even if the child has not returned to Jiba. The Amulet should not be exchanged between persons, not even between husband and wife, parent and child, or brother and sister.
