Returning to Jiba

Coming to Jiba, the Home of the Parent, is referred to as "returning to Jiba," implying that we are coming back to our original home. We should make the effort to return to Jiba at every opportunity--especially for the Monthly Services and the Grand Services of Church Headquarters--to extend our greetings, express our gratitude, and offer our sincerity to God the Parent and Oyasama, who are waiting for us, God's children.

God the Parent is the Creator of human beings, and the Jiba is the source of all blessings. God the Parent will accept the sincerity of our minds and provide any salvation whatever.

Besides the Monthly Services and the Grand Services, a variety of events held at the Home of the Parent--such as the Children's Pilgrimage to Jiba, which takes place every summer--draw large numbers of people who adore the Parent.

Apart from returning to Jiba, we should try to visit our churches on a regular basis, for churches serve their local communities as places of worship where God the Parent and Oyasama are powerfully represented. All of us Yoboku should take to heart and bear in mind that we are members of churches that are to serve as centers for world salvation.

From the Scriptures

The truth of Church Headquarters and the truth of the churches: these are a single breath. Unless you settle this unity in mind, Heaven cannot work.

The manner of worshiping

At Church Headquarters

When worshiping in the Main Sanctuary of Church Headquarters, we first sit down on the floor facing the Kanrodai, place our hands on the floor, and make a bow. We then clap four times and bow in prayer, offering gratitude and sincerity, apologies and pledges. After the prayer is completed, we clap four times again and bow our heads with our hands on the floor. We offer worship in the same manner in the Foundress' Sanctuary and the Memorial Hall.

In the Main Sanctuary, following the initial prayer, many people perform the seated service, which involves the same hand movements as the morning and evening services.

At local churches

At local churches, we find God the Parent's shrine in the center of the altar, Oyasama's shrine to the right, and the Memorial shrine(s) to the left. We worship God the Parent first, then Oyasama, and then pay our respects to the memories of the deceased. For each shrine, we bow our heads, clap four times, bow in prayer, clap four more times, and bow our heads again.

A more thorough way to worship would, of course, be to perform the seated service.
