The Salvation Service (Tasuke-zutome)

by Yoshikazu Fukaya

The Kagura Service is the Service through which God the Parent manifests once again the marvelous divine providence that created humankind and the world. It is through this providence that this world will be changed into the world of the Joyous Life. By performing this Service, the true salvation of all people in the world will be accomplished.

The Kagura Service is the basis for receiving the divine providence of universal salvation. Therefore this Service is also called the "Service for Universal Salvation" or the "Salvation Service."

Since this Service is the Service for Universal Salvation, it should not be surprising that it can also invoke divine protection for our physical well-being. Through our performance of the Service, God the Parent will sever the root of all illnesses including those long regarded as unavoidable such as smallpox and measles. The divine protection is also extended to childbirth assuring a safe and easy delivery and even enabling one to quicken or delay delivery, thus allowing peace of mind for all concerned. Not only are we saved from disease, misfortune, and calamity through the Service, but God has assured us of freedom from illness, death, and weakening as well.

Further, the divine protection, which will be provided depending only on our sincerity, is extended to our harvests, covering such matters as fertilization, growth, insect infestation, ripening, and rainfall adjustment.

Furthermore, God the Parent has assured us that a world of spirited and joyous life will be realized through the Service--a world where industries and towns become prosperous, where discrimination based on social status is non-existent, and where there is no conflict, strife, or war, with peace reigning instead.

In addition to the Kagura Service, which is performed regularly every month, God the Parent taught eleven different Services to answer specific prayers. These are: Safe Childbirth, Fertilizer, Germination, Harvest, Rain, Smallpox, Cessation of Rain, Rebellion, etc.

In addressing the specific problems that plagued people at the time the teachings were revealed, God the Parent was teaching the boundlessness and profundity of divine providence that could be invoked by the Service.

This Service is completely different from traditional rituals observed in various places around the world. It is the fundamental path of salvation for our living, dynamic world of today.
