The term refers to both attaining a convincing insight into the truth of the teachings and giving that convincing insight to others. To be more precise, we may distinguish four aspects of what is indicated by the term.
(1) Being convinced of the truth of the teachings. The truth of convincing insight, we are told, becomes the basis of salvation: If your mind can effortlessly make the world feel that you are a convincing example, such a mind is clear to Heaven. This is the basis of salvation. Osashizu, June 10, 1888, supp. vol. The following passages, excerpted from the Divine Directions, illustrate the above four aspects:
(1) Feeling truly convinced deep in the mind: from this, the truth of Osashizu, June 15, 1890
If you all become convinced and let the convincing insight settle Osashizu, March 29, 1904
(2) You may understand the truth of convincing insight, but that will Osashizu, April 17, 1889
(3) You must raise her to be a convincing example, convincing from Osashizu, February 25, 1889
