"Truth of Convincing Insight"
 (Naruhodo no ri)

The term refers to both attaining a convincing insight into the truth of the teachings and giving that convincing insight to others. To be more precise, we may distinguish four aspects of what is indicated by the term.

(1)  Being convinced of the truth of the teachings.

(2)  Implementing the teachings each day and internalizing them.

(3)  Thereby providing what one and all will see as a convincing
example that makes the truth of the teachings self-apparent.
Such is the state of having attained spiritual growth.

(4)  This also describes a way of being that is accepted by God.

The truth of convincing insight, we are told, becomes the basis of salvation:

If your mind can effortlessly make the world feel that you are a convincing example, such a mind is clear to Heaven. This is the basis of salvation.

Osashizu, June 10, 1888, supp. vol.

The following passages, excerpted from the Divine Directions, illustrate the above four aspects:

(1)  Feeling truly convinced deep in the mind: from this, the truth of
      convincing insight will settle.

Osashizu, June 15, 1890

If you all become convinced and let the convincing insight settle
in the mind, then you are on the path.

Osashizu, March 29, 1904

(2)  You may understand the truth of convincing insight, but that will
serve no purpose unless you understand the truth of daily life.

Osashizu, April 17, 1889

(3)  You must raise her to be a convincing example, convincing from
      every angle possible.

Osashizu, February 25, 1889

(4)  I shall accept anything you do each day so long as your mind
allows you to present the world with a convincing example
through the way you lead your life.

Osashizu, May 6, 1890
