Ikoi-no-Ie Hospital Constructs New Outpatient Facility in Anticipation of the 120th Anniversary of Oyasama

On November 11, Tenri Yorozu-sodansho Foundation's Ikoi-no-Ie Hospital held the ground-breaking ceremony for the new outpatient facility designed to respond to rapid social change and current medical progress. The construction is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2005, and the new facility will start offering medical services in January of the following year, which will mark the 120th Anniversary of Oyasama.

The number of outpatients visiting Ikoi-no-Ie has been steadily increasing since the hospital opened in West Right Wings 2 and 3 of the Oyasato-yakata building-complex in 1966, the year of the 80th Anniversary of Oyasama. The hospital has always struggled with space limitations, although it has been at the forefront of modern medicine, making a constant effort to enhance and upgrade its medical facilities to provide "repairing and fostering."

The new outpatient facility is expected to ease the space problem, thereby enabling the hospital to come closer to realizing its founder's hope embodied in the name "Ikoi-no-Ie," meaning "house of rest" where those suffering from illness and returning to the Home of the Parent will be able to rest comfortably, with both the body and mind at rest, and regain their health.
