Tenrikyo Nioigake Day (the annual day designated for sprinkling the fragrance of the teachings) was observed between September 28 and 30 throughout the country. This came at a time when all followers are striving to implement the "mind of saving others," which they have been trying to cultivate by drawing on the "Oyasama 120th Anniversary District Lectures." Setting their sights on sprinkling the fragrance of the teachings on all households, the followers worked together, whether at the level of churches, dioceses, or districts, to conduct such activities as distributing leaflets and picking up litter on the streets. As for the Oyasato district, nearly 1,500 staff members of Church Headquarters, as well as some 100 Tenrikyo Language Institute students, carried out door-to-door missionary work during the three-day period in Senboku New Town, which comprises about 58,000 households and is located in the city of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. |
